For the log homes we use only wood from the highly resistant Karelian pine-trees (Polar pine). Logs of any diameter (between 160-220 mm) can be chosen to suit your personal taste. The logs possess inherent insulating qualities that will satisfy round-year living standards. The extreme growth conditions in Karelia force the pines to grow slowly with a reduced moisture balance. The narrow-ringed wood is extremely resistant with excellent dimensional stability. Compared to pine wood from more southern regions, the Karelian pine also has a better thermal insulation value.
The special profiles of the round logs mean that the joints are absolutely solid. Even after many years, the walls are just are solid as on the first day.
We use the wood of the natural moisture, therefore log achieves optimum moisture proportionally for all length, thus occurrence of internal pressure minimally, and accordingly the log is exposed to the minimal deformations.
There is a compensation groove inside the log, in which cracks of shrinkage are located, as the result, shrinkage of wooden structure occurs evenly.
The manufacturing of logs is organized in the factory, according to the technological drawings. Each log is marked for the following assembly that's why the assembly takes little time and work-strength.
The log, for transportation and storage, is covered by antiseptic moisture based on ecologically clean materials.
The wooden surface should be treated with a water-repellent paint to ensure that moisture pearls off. Depending of personal taste, the product used can emphasize the natural marking of the wood, or give the home its individual design with a colored paint.
Care must be taken to ensure, that wood is protected from lasting moisture penetration.
